About Averruncus

Averruncus is a boutique consultancy led by Daniel Eiloart, a senior transformation and operational finance professional with 20+ years in global financial services.

Daniel spent twelve years at HSBC at Director level, including as acting COO of Group Treasury and as head of the Global Banking & Markets regulatory change portfolio. He led the recovery of a failing AML programme following regulatory scrutiny, delivered FATCA and CRS compliance across 60+ jurisdictions, and managed a $200m+ annual regulatory portfolio spanning MiFID II, EMIR and BCBS Margin.

Before HSBC, he spent five years at Accenture as a Senior Manager, delivering transformation programmes for global investment banks and winning a $50m IT outsourcing contract with Morgan Stanley.

He is a Fellow Chartered Management Accountant and holds an MBA with Distinction from Warwick Business School and a BEng (Hons) from the University of Nottingham. He completed MIT's Certificate in Digital Transformation.

Averruncus was established to bring senior, hands-on delivery experience to organisations facing complex change - particularly when a programme has gone wrong, a finance function needs to work differently, or a digital transformation is not landing.

We work in three main areas: programme recovery and turnaround, finance transformation and CFO advisory, and digital transformation. Each is grounded in delivery experience rather than theory, and each begins with a practical diagnosis rather than a methodology.
